This is the fourth in a highly successful series of jointly convened international conferences, and the objective is to provide a stimulating environment for a high level discussion about the key drivers for change in the electric utility industry. An agenda with confirmed speakers is enclosed. We attach considerable importance to the quality of the debate, and for this reason attendance is by invitation only, and all proceedings are held under the Chatham House Rules (views expressed are non-attributable).

The Berlin Summer Conference on Energy, is organised by the MIT Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research (CEEPR) and the University of Cambridge Electricity Policy Research Group (EPRG), formerly the CMI Electricity Project, in conjunction with Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, who are the local hosts.

The conference will take place in Berlin Monday and Tuesday 19-20 September 2005 and begin with a welcoming reception and dinner on Sunday evening, 18 September.
